The United Kingdom has said its armed forces are prepared to protect the country against any potential attack after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a warning over the use of British military bases by US forces.
The UK government said on Thursday that its defence systems remain ready to respond to threats from both domestic and international sources, stressing that national security remains a top priority.
“Our Armed Forces are ready to keep the United Kingdom safe from any kind of attacks, whether it’s on our soil or from abroad. The UK stands ready 24/7 to defend itself,” a government spokesperson said.
The statement came after growing tensions between Iran and Western countries over military operations in the Middle East and the involvement of US forces operating from allied locations.
Britain Strengthens Air and Missile Defence Strategy
The British government said it maintains a layered approach to air and missile defence, combining capabilities from the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force.
Officials said these forces are equipped with advanced defence technology and work closely with NATO allies to monitor and respond to potential security threats.
