Trump Warns Iran of Massive Military Response if Assassination Attempt Occurs

WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying the United States military is prepared to launch a major response if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.

In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump claimed that the US has prepared extensive military options against Iran and warned that any attack against the American president would trigger severe consequences.

“1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded,” Trump wrote, stating that additional military assets could follow if Iranian authorities acted on alleged threats against him.

He added that orders had already been issued and said the US military was prepared to “completely decimate and destroy” targets across Iran.

Trump Claims Iran Has Targeted Him for Years

Trump said he has been a potential target of Iranian retaliation for years, linking the threats to his decision in 2020 to authorize a US drone strike that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.

Following Soleimani’s death, Iranian officials vowed revenge and repeatedly accused Washington of responsibility for the operation.

In an interview with the New York Post published Friday, Trump said he had already prepared instructions in case he was killed.

“I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,” Trump said.

He added that Iran had wanted him dead for years and suggested that his security concerns remained unchanged.

Alleged Assassination Threats Fuel New Tensions

Trump’s latest remarks came after reports that banners calling for his killing appeared during funeral ceremonies for Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The comments also followed a report from The Wall Street Journal that Israel had shared intelligence with the United States regarding an alleged Iranian assassination plot targeting Trump.

Trump said Israel had not provided any new information that changed his assessment of the threat but maintained that Iran remained hostile toward him.

During remarks at the NATO summit in Ankara earlier this week, Trump said: “They want to take out the US leader — me,” claiming he believed he remained on Iran’s target list.

Washington and Tehran Remain Locked in Conflict

The latest warning adds another layer of tension to already strained US-Iran relations, which have deteriorated over military strikes, nuclear negotiations, and regional security disputes.

Although diplomatic channels have recently remained open through mediation efforts by countries including Pakistan and Qatar, threats and military warnings continue to complicate negotiations.

Washington has repeatedly stated that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons, while Tehran has accused the United States of aggressive actions and violations of previous agreements.

Security Concerns Surround Trump’s Travel

Security concerns surrounding the president have also received renewed attention.

Reports indicated that the US Secret Service advised Trump to use an older Air Force One aircraft for his return from the NATO summit because of its established security capabilities.

Trump rejected claims that the aircraft choice was linked to assassination concerns, maintaining that there was no unusual security issue.

Military Escalation Risks Increase

Trump’s warning represents one of the strongest threats issued against Iran since tensions between the two countries intensified.

While the president has continued to express interest in diplomatic solutions, his latest comments underline Washington’s willingness to consider military action if officials believe American leadership is directly threatened.

With Iran and the United States still navigating nuclear negotiations, ceasefire discussions, and regional conflicts, the possibility of further escalation remains a major concern for international observers.
